Jessi's dance review was about a month ago, but it has taken me that long to figure out how to convert the files from our camcorder. We got a new JVC Everio, and I loved the idea that it is all digital. It records straight to a hard drive that holds about 37 hours of video so we don't have to worry about tapes. It seemed like I was always rewinding, fast forwarding, or running out of tape, so this hard drive thing was going to be an awesome bonus. In theory.

But then I found out it saves everything in .mod format which is useless to me since it is totally incompatible with anything we own. I've been online for hours trying to figure out how to convert a .mod file to an .avi file or some other useful format, and it seemed to be near impossible. Then I found out that .mod is a form of .mpeg4 and I can just RENAME the file with a .mpg extension. Curse you, technology! But it worked. Nothing like wasting 329 hours uploading, downloading, reloading, and unloading... Still love the camcorder, though. So here is Jessi's dance after I've renamed the extension and uploaded it to Photobucket then embedded in Blogger because Blogger did not want to cooperate. Do you see and appreciate what I've gone through to get this to you people?
